From the 29th to the 31st of January, 3dmx brought to Mexico the Global Game Jam event in the "Ex-convento del Carmen" in Guadalajara, Jalisco. The inauguration act was directed by Alberto Zamora, Creative Officer in 3dmx Studios; Emilio Macías, General Director of 3dmx Digital Design University; Sergio Tabares, General Director of the Instituto Jalisciense de la Juventud; and Amy Astudillo, organizer of the Global Game Jam. It's the first time that this evento is carried out in our country, and 3dmx served as an organizer supporting all the contestants that came from many parts of the country. The Global Game Jam is an event that consists in the development of a completely new prototype for a game in 48 hours. It's also an international evento, since it didn't only take place in Mexico, it was also made in 52 countries. It started at 5:00 o'clock in the whole world. Between the contestants, there were students from 3dmx in the Videogames Development Degree, from 2nd to 8th semester, creatives from 3dmx Studios and participants from different universities in the country. There were 4 teams and their objective was to create a prototype in less than 48 hours from scratch for a videogame, wich had to be innovative and creative, and it couldn't be a sequel for a videogame, and at the same create the entire 3d (texture, modeling, etc), programming, graphic interface, etc. The videogame concept was given the same day of the event: "deception". The participants started out very cheerfully, they didn´t give up and in the end there were very good results. The expectations were met, not only in finishing the prototype, but also having fun and interacting doing what makes them passionate. 3dmx expects to bring the Second Global Game Jam to Mexico next year and makes this event a tradition.
